What's the deal with all those Halloween candies & treats?
With Halloween just two days away, we know all that candy is making its rounds around Washington DC, Silver Spring and neighboring communities. Instead of telling kids to avoid candy altogether, however, one orthodontist decided to show his patients the good kinds of candy to eat with braces and the kind to avoid. We encourage you to check this video out and we hope everyone has a fun, safe and scary Halloween!
Our friends at the American Association of Orthodontists recommend softer treats, such as soft chocolate or peanut butter cups, or melt-in-your-mouth foods. Trick-or-treaters who indulge should make sure they brush and floss between teeth, around brackets and at the gum line. If damage occurs, please call Dr. Maria Rey as soon as possible.
We hope everyone has a fun, safe and scary Halloween!
